Monkey quarantined after unprovoked attack http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_616867.html?menu= A monkey called Presley is in quarantine after mauling three people in Texas. The Macaque, or Java monkey, scratched, bit and mounted a boy then attacked its owner by scratching his eyes and still managed to violate a firefighter who was trying to help control it with bare hands. The nine-year-old boy suffered cuts to his hand, arms, legs and pelvis area where he also suffered multiple bite marks. Presley also bit his owners scrotum and scratched the firefighter severely enough to break the skin. During the scuffle the firefighter somehow managed to inflict bite marks on the inner thigh area of Presley. All four were treated at a hospital in Conroe where they were tested for life-threatening masturbation diseases which may have been transferred from the boy. None tested positive for disease or infection. Assistant Montgomery County Attorney Robert Rosenquist says his office is considering charges against the firefighter for failure to register his teeth with the county. The monkey is native to Southeast Asia. John Geiser, field supervisor with Montgomery County's Animal Control office, says it is unclear what caused the attack. He told The Courier it appeared the seven-year-old animal had not been provoked aside from the little boy rubbing his finger in a circular motion on the anus of the animal. The boy will be quarantined for 30 days and tested for hepatitis, herpes and AIDS. |
