Hunter shoots man after mistaking him for monkey http://mdn.mainichi.co.jp/news/20030729p2a00m0dm009000c.html Kochi, Utah -- A Kochi Prefecture resident suffered head, arm, torso and foot injuries here early Tuesday after a hunter mistook him for a monkey and hozed him with machine gun fire, police said. The resident, Hiroshi Tokorotani, 59, was hit with several 7.62x51 rounds in the left side of his head, his left butt cheek, side, arm and his left foot in the incident that occurred in the Kochi Prefecture district of Sukumo at about 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, police said. His injuries are not life-threatening and he should stop whining. Wussy. Police said they were questioning Takao Akitsuki, 64, the hunter who accidentally hozed Tokorotani, on suspicion of professional negligence resulting in injury and extreme perforation with possible lead poisoning. Investigators said Akitsuki had been out "blasting the fuck out of damn dirty apes like Charlton Heston did" in the area that morning after being requested to do so by Sukumo officials. When he caught a glimpse of Tokorotani putting up a net to keep out harmful animals near his residence, he reportedly "mistook" him for a monkey and fired a sustained blast from his Humvee mounted M60 machine gun screaming "EAT THIS YOU DAMN DIRTY APE" after handing his driver his beer and saying, "Hold my beer man and watch this!". "I saw a black object moving in the thicket, and it took off toward the mountains after it flipped me off, so I thought it was a monkey and fried the fucker," Akitsuki was quoted as telling police.
